My Thoughts on AI
AI can be scary, but it can also be beneficial. It can AID humans in thinking through ideas, writing code, even planning trips. But AI will never be able to fully replace humans. That’s because it cannot care and it cannot connect–humans greatest strengths.
AI helps me as a student journalist by supporting the transcription of interviews. After recording conversations, I use it to turn spoken dialogue into readable text, which allows me to focus more on listening during interviews instead of rushing to take perfect notes. This helps me capture quotes more accurately and spend more time thinking about story structure, context, and meaning rather than getting stuck in the mechanics of transcription.
Combined with AI-assisted coding tools, my knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript allows me to design and build websites that reflect my interests and creative ideas. I use these tools together to experiment with layout, styling, and functionality, while also improving my understanding of how code structures shape user experience. This combination helps me learn more efficiently, troubleshoot problems as they come up, and bring my projects to life in a more polished and intentional way.
I also use AI as a study tool to deepen my understanding of course material. By uploading my notes, I can generate quizzes that test my knowledge of key concepts and identify areas where I need to review. This makes studying more active and intentional, turning passive reading into engagement with the material. It helps me check my understanding in real time and retain information more effectively.
